Naperville Invites Public to Comment on Fair Housing Report

The Housing Advisory Commission is holding a public meeting about the report on February 6

The following is a press release from the City of Naperville:

Through February 21, the public is invited to comment on the final draft of the City of Naperville’s Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing report. The report, which assesses the public and private conditions that affect fair housing choice in Naperville and recommends strategies to reduce barriers to achieving fair housing in the community, is available to view at www.naperville.il.us/furtheringfairhousing.

The Housing Advisory Commission (HAC) will host a special meeting on the draft report at 6:30 p.m.on Monday, February 6 in Council Chambers of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. The meeting will include a presentation on the report by the City’s consultant, Mullin & Lonergan Associates, Inc., followed by input from the commission and the opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide comments. For those who cannot attend in person, the meeting will be broadcast live on government access TV station WCNC (Ch. 6 – WOW, Ch. 10 – Comcast, Ch. 99 – AT&T) and live streamed via the City’s website at www.naperville.il.us/granicus.

Copies of the draft report are also available to view at the Naperville City Clerk’s Office and all three branches of the Naperville Public Library. Comments or questions can also be submitted to Ruth Broder, CDBG Program Coordinator, by calling (630) 305-5315, emailing broderr@naperville.il.us or mailing them to Ruth Broder, Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St., Naperville, IL 60540. All comments must be received by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21.

Following the public comment period, the City Council will consider the report at a future Council meeting.
