Naperville Police Issue More Than 40 Citations in Roadside Checkpoint

Police release results of recent enforcement campaign near downtown Naperville.

The Naperville Police Department issued more than 40 citations during a recent roadside checkpoint near downtown Naperville, including two drunk driving arrests.

As a result of the checkpoint, a total of 45 citations were issued at Washington Street and 5th Avenue during the late evening hours on Friday, Sept. 20, according to the Naperville Police Department.

The following citations were issued: 

  • Driver's license offenses: 12 
  • Seatbelt offenses: 7
  • Driving under the influence: 2
  • Total citations arrests: 45 
  • Total written warnings: 2 
Illinois State Police as well as officers from the Naperville Police Department conducted the checkpoint, according to police.  

The project was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety, according to police.
