Naperville Police Make Arrest In Recent Burglaries, Retail Thefts
Two subjects for three retail thefts of alcohol at the Jewel on Ogden Avenue.
At approximately 4:20 PM on December 29, 2020, Naperville Police responded to the Jewel Foods store, located at 127 E. Ogden Avenue, reference a retail theft. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two subjects for three retail thefts of alcohol that occurred between December 27 and December 29, 2020. The previous retail thefts were reported to NPD however, the subjects had left the scene prior to NPD arrival. The total loss from all of the incidents was over $5100.00

- Donald Swope, 50, of the 1500 block of North LeClair in Chicago, IL was charged with one (1) felony count of Burglary, two (2) felony counts of Retail Theft, and one (1) felony count of Possession of Controlled Substance.
- Johnnie C. West, 54, of the 200 block of South Central in Chicago, IL was charged with one (1) felony count of Burglary, two (2) felony counts of Retail Theft, and one (1) misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
