Naperville Police Make Weapons Offense Arrest
A 21-year-old Naperville resident was charged Monday with one felony count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
On March 1, 2021, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Naperville Police detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by, Yusuf Syed, 21, of Naperville because of a failure to signal traffic violation.
Detectives discovered a small amount of cannabis in the vehicle and the investigation eventually led to a consent search of the motel room that Syed was staying in at the time. Inside the room was a disassembled firearm that Syed was not allowed to possess.

Arrested: Yusuf M. Syed 21, of the 25 W 200 block of unincorporated Naperville, IL was charged with one felony count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (class X) and one felony count of Conspiracy – Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (class X).
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
