Naperville Police to Conduct Roadside Checkpoint

The Naperville Police Department will be conducting a roadside safety check this weekend.

Those thinking about having a few drinks this weekend will want to make sure they have a designated driver.

The Naperville Police Department and Illinois State Police will be conducting a roadside safety check this weekend beginning Friday, Sept. 20 at an undisclosed location and time within the city, according to police.

Officers will be watching for drivers who are "operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, transporting open alcoholic beverages, or driving under the influence," according to police.

The roadside safety check is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety, according to police.
