The second man was arrested Friday, and they're now facing aggravated robbery charges.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Two men have been arrested for committing an armed robbery in Naperville August 21. Craig Garner, 19, of the 900 block of 3rd Street in LaSalle, and Jalen T. Martinez, 20, of the 1400 block of Carleton Avenue in Naperville, have been charged. They each face one count of aggravated robbery stemming from a robbery of a 14-year-old boy from Naperville. Martinez, pictured below, is also charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding for speeding and not following the rules of traffic when he tried to escape police shortly after the incident.

The Naperville robbery occurred around 1 a.m. in the 600 block of south Route 59. Officials say Garner and Martinez showed a handgun and took a backpack and other items from the youth. Police later recovered a handgun and located their abandoned vehicle on Webster Road.

Following further investigation into the incident, police arrested Martinez on Sept. 11 and Garner, Oct. 20. A special note from the Naperville Police Department: A charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
