Naperville Sees 33 Car Burglaries, 5 Thefts In One Week
Police say they were all left unlocked.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A rash of car thefts and burglaries this past week have police looking for connections. Three car thefts alone took place Thanksgiving morning, according to the Naperville Police Department. More burglaries occurred overnight into the morning of Nov. 23. It may seem obvious, they say, but police are reminding people to lock their cars.
Public information officer Lou Cammiso said that all of the incidences happened to unlocked cars. Thirty-three cars were burglarized in the past week and five were taken with key fobs inside the vehicles.
At least two of the stolen vehicles, both Jeeps, were recovered. Police told the Daily Herald that suspects used one of the stolen cars to break into other vehicles. The break-ins have been reported south of Edward Hospital, near Naper Boulevard south of 75 Street and in the Brookdale area northwest of downtown, according to the Daily Herald.
