Naperville Shooting Victim Identified

Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Naperville on Friday night as Matthew Lange, according to a department press release.

The 37-year-old Oswego man had a connection to the Helena Modjeska Polish School, according to the Naperville Sun. The Polish school rents space in Scullen Middle School on Friday nights.

Authorities said Lange was shot several times through closed car windows while he sat in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Police have not identified any witnesses, but they are speaking with people of interest.
Commander Lou Cammiso told the Naperville Sun that this was the first murder in Naperville since January 2014.

Naperville Police are still investigating the murder, and they want let the public know that the shooting was not a random act and they don’t believe it will be repeated.
