The two recycling programs will be available to Naperville residents June through August.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville residents will have two new methods of recycling items starting June 2. The Clothing and Textile and Food Scrap Recycling Programs will be available through Aug. 29.

Food Scrap Recycling Program

Naperville first teamed up with Groot Industries in 2024 to introduce the Food Scrap Recycling Program. Again, residents can drop off their food scraps at the parking lot at Wolf's Crossing Road and 91st Street or at the CNG Station at 1720 Jefferson Ave.

Clothing and Textile Recycling Program

The city has teamed up with RewearAble for its Clothing and Textile Recycling Program. Items can be dropped off at the Environmental Collection Campus, 156 Fort Hill Dr. Dropoff will be available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The following items will be accepted:

  • Bedding
  • Clothes
  • Household textiles
  • Matching shoes that are banded together
  • Towels

Some items will not be accepted, including wet or soiled items, pet beds, pillows and curtains. Click the link to see which items are accepted for recycling.

To ensure easier collection, residents should place their clothing and textile items in a bag or box, but should not tape or tie the container.

If the food scrap and clothing and textile recycling programs prove successful, they may be available to residents more regularly in the future.
