New Restaurant Openings at Naperville's Water Street District

Riverfront patios open just in time for summer! New wine bar and sushi restaurant in Downtown Naperville.

NAPERVILLE, IL – A wine bar and sushi sake grill are coming to downtown Naperville’s Water Street District next month, right in time for summer. The two new restaurants will be in the 2.4-acre, $93 million hospitality and retail district along the south bank of the DuPage River.

SixtyFour, the new wine bar, is set to open in June. It will have 64 wines by the glass every day plus 64 local and regional craft beers from Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. The menu is being developed by Chef Patrick McLaughlin, who was formerly the executive chef at Parkers' Restaurant and Bar in Downers Grove.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill will be SixtyFour’s neighbor and is expected to open shortly after the wine bar around the third week in June, according to the Daily Herald. Blue Sushi Sake Grill is part of a Nebraska-based chain that serves "fun sushi." Blue Sushi Sake Grill will be conducting interviews for all positions until May 21 at the Naperville Community Career Center.

1. State & Main, a British-style pub popular in Canada

2. Santo Cielo, a farm-to-table restaurant with a rotating menu

3. Sparrow Coffee, a second location of a popular Chicago roastery

The opening of the restaurants is bringing the Water Street District development to life. It took nearly 10 years to redevelop and this summer is proof of the work: there is now a 500+ parking garage open, a reconstructed and improved Riverwalk, and a new Water Street with downtown streetscape elements.
