The Nicor Gas Community Connection Resource Fair made a significant impact in Hazel Crest by providing essential resources and support to local residents. In a collaborative effort with State Representative Will Davis and Village of Hazel Crest President Sandra Alexander, the event successfully delivered free grocery care packages to over 280 families. Attendees also received valuable information about various support offerings available to them.

The fair was bolstered by the participation of numerous local community organizations, including Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County (CEDA), Cook County Health, The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs, Illinois Tollway, NAMI, South Suburban Housing Center and The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division. Their involvement was crucial in offering a wide range of resources and assistance to those in need.
