Plows, Salt Trucks In Full Force As Winter Storm Hits Naperville
Naperville's fleet of salt trucks and snow plows is at the ready as a winter storm hits the area.

NAPERVILLE, IL — The city of Naperville will deploy its salt trucks and snow plows around the clock as a winter storm hits the area.
The winter storm warning took effect at 12 p.m. Thursday and extends through 6 a.m. Saturday for Naperville. The forecast calls for consistent snowfall, dangerously low temperatures and winds that may gust up to 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
As of early Thursday, 25 salt trucks had been deployed to salt Naperville's roadways ahead of the storm.

As snow accumulates, the city's public works department will send out snow plows, with the following roadways prioritized, with the aim of removing all snow within 15 hours of the end of a storm:
- Main streets and arterial streets are plowed first
- Side streets, dead end streets, cul de sacs and alleys are plowed next
The following roadways are cleaned by the Illinois Department of Transportation, DuPage and Will Counties or other government entities:

- Mill Street and Naper Boulevard north of Ogden
- Ogden Avenue
- Parts of Plainfield-Naperville Road
Residents are advised to use caution when driving and to avoid parking on city streets during inclement weather.
