Police Blotter: Speeding, Friend Takes Videos and Cash

Possession

James John Wiley-Benes, 18, of the 100 block of Chicago Avenue in Clarendon Hills, was arrested at 9:07 p.m. at Pembroke Road and East Chicago Avenue, said. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis. His bond was $120.

Driving under the influence

Baron Demetrion McClung, 21, of the 900 block of Southbridge in Aurora, was arrested at 4:21 a.m. in the 2300 block of North Aurora Road and Genessee Drive, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended/revoked license, improper lane use and having an expired registration. His bond was $300.

Speeding

Brandan Lee Milmont, 22, of the 2000 block of Springside Drive, was arrested at 12:32 a.m. in the 700 block of 87th Street and Ridge Road, police said. He was charged with speeding more than 30 miles over the speed limit and illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver. Police said he was driving 87 mph in a 45-mph zone.

No insurance

David Alvarado, 19, of the 2300 block of Beau Monde in Lisle, was arrested at 4:36 p.m. at West Ogden Avenue and North River Road, police said. He was charged with driving with a defective side/rear windshield, driving without insurance and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bond was $200.

Theft

  • A resident said they left a black backpack with a laptop inside on the ground in a parking lot in the 1300 block of South Naper Boulevard, police said. The person returned five minutes later and the backpack was gone.
  • A woman in the 200 block of East Bailey Road reported that she allowed a friend to stay with her and she believes he took $100 and four video games when he left, police said.

Criminal damage

  • A resident in the 1900 block of Lisson Road reported that someone damaged their mailbox between 4:51 p.m. Dec. 23 and 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Damage was estimated at $100.
  • A resident in the 100 block of Testa Drive reported that someone broke out the driver’s side window and the rear driver’s side window in a vehicle.
