Police Blotter: Stolen Car, Spray-Painted Vehicle, Teens Acting Strangely

Naperville Police Department reports, Feb. 17-19

Friday, Feb. 17

Possession

Jacob Isaac Nickels, 24, of the 1300 block of Modaff Road, was arrested at 5:24 p.m. in the 1300 block of Modaff Road, police said. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis. His bond was $120.

Suspended license

  • Eliziah Torrance Evans, 31, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, was arrested at 8:54 a.m. at North Aurora and Eola roads in Aurora, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $1,500.
  • Maria De La Cruz Cuellar, 41, of the 300 block of Evans Avenue in Aurora, was arrested at 3:29 p.m. at Enterprise Court and North Aurora Road, police said. She was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and driving without insurance. Her bond was $200.
  • Mistique Nicole Ball, 23, of the 3700 block of Hennepin Drive in Joliet, was arrested at 7:27 p.m. in the 800 block of South Washington Street, police said. She was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license, an expired registration and speeding over the limit. Her bond was $150.
  • Police said James Wilder Gross, 26, of the 1300 block of Brookline Court, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. in the 100 block of West Jefferson Avenue. He was charged with disobeying a stop sign and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $1,500.

Unlicensed

Dale Wayne Gills, 31, of the 5900 block of Oakwood Drive in Lisle, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. at Aurora Avenue and South West Street, police said. He was charged with driving without a license and driving in the wrong lane. His bond was $150.

Uninsured

  • Christopher Anthony Lee, 26, of the 1200 block of Nantucket Road in Aurora, was arrested at 2:55 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 5th Avenue and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with speeding over the limit, title/registration possession offenses and driving without insurance. His bond was $200.
  • Rogelio Garcia-Garduno, 19, of the 800 block of Summit in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 9:19 a.m. in the 600 block of Cassin Road and South Naper Boulevard, police said. He was charged with speeding, driving without a license and driving without insurance. His bail was $2,000.

Stolen vehicle

A 39-year-old woman in the 1300 block of Cortland Drive reported a 1999 blue Honda Civic two-door was taken between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday, police said.

Saturday, Feb. 18 

Driving under the influence

  • Caroline Jeanne Rossow, 34, of the 7600 block of Gladstone Drive, was arrested at 9:34 p.m. at East Jefferson Avenue and South Washington Street, police said. She was charged with following too close, leaving the scene of an accident involving vehicle damage, driving without insurance, driving under the influence of alcohol and interfering with an officer. Her bail was $3,000.
  • Zachary Michael Wolf, 22, of the 800 block of East Bailey Road, was arrested at 10:19 a.m. in the 300 block of East Bailey Road, police said. He was charged with illegal possession/transportation of liquor by a driver and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bond was $100.
  • Rufus Taylor, 70, of the 5600 block of South Honore Street in Chicago, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. at South Naper Boulevard and East Chicago Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. Police said that Taylor was stopped by passersby due to his erratic driving. His bail was $3,000.
  • Justin Russell Giles, 32, of the 300 block of Krenz Avenue in Cary, was arrested at 1:21 a.m. at Mistflower Lane and 103rd Street, police said. He was charged with speeding, operating a vehicle while uninsured, driving under the influence of alcohol and driver’s license not on his person. His bail was $3,000.

Obstructing identification

Venus Olivia Hrobowski, 32, of the 200 block of Adler Creek in Romeoville, was arrested at 10:36 p.m. in the 300 block of South Route 59 and 83rd Street, police said. She was charged with no front/rear plate/permit display, unlawful use of an ID card, obstructing identification, charges related to two warrants, driving on a suspended/revoked license, no rear registration plate light, two counts of driving without restraint for a child under four years old and driving without insurance. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. 

Suspended license

  • Police said Miguel A. Albor-Castro, 24, of the 1000 block of Bishop Street in West Chicago, was arrested at 12:22 p.m. in the 1700 block of Raymond Drive and West Diehl Road. He was charged with disobeying a traffic control signal and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $1,500.
  • Araceli Posada, 19, of the 1800 block of Great Falls Drive in Plainfield, was arrested at 10:52 a.m. in the 900 block of South Route 59 and Ogden Avenue, police said. She was charged with speeding, driving on a suspended/revoked license and driving without insurance. Her bail was $2,000.
  • Tyronne Darnell Emmons, 34, of the 1500 block of Fairway Drive, was arrested at 2:48 a.m. in the 500 block of Fairway Drive, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and driving without insurance. His bond was $200.
  • Shanequa Caprice Thomas, 20, of the 1800 block of South Central Park in Chicago, was arrested at 7:02 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Route 59 and Brookdale Road, police said. She was charged with driving while uninsured, driving under a suspension without insurance and driving on a suspended/revoked license. Her bail was $3,000.

Warrant arrest

  • Cesar Bravo, 32, of the 1400 block of Braymore Circle, was arrested at 4 p.m. in the 200 block of Shuman Boulevard, police said. He was charged on an original warrant related to violating an order of protection. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Police said Ryan Michael Flynn, 26, of the 900 block of Watercress Drive, was arrested at 10:15 a.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Avenue. He was charged on an original warrant related to battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Darrius Martell Garcia, 22, of the 100 block of Testa Drive, was arrested at 1:14 a.m. in the 100 block of Testa Drive, police said. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Violating an order of protection

Jose A. Martinez, 37, of the 300 block of DuPage Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 4:17 p.m. in the 7500 block of Janes Avenue in Woodridge, police said. He was charged with violating an order of protection. Police said he called the protected person by telephone. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Unlicensed

Dexter Martell Gumm, 28, of the 6900 block of South Laflin Street in Chicago, was arrested at 11:21 a.m. at South Route 59 and Cantore Road, police said. He was charged with driving without a license and a traffic control violation. His bail was $1,500.

Suspicious incident

Police said a passerby at Rollingridge Road and Tall Grass Drive reported that two teens, who were “possibly stoned” and driving in an older rusted gray minivan offered to sell him “chronic."

Theft

Police reported that someone in the 1300 block of South Naper Boulevard stole about $180 in baby formula at 4:13 p.m. 

Sunday, Feb. 19

Driving under the influence

  • Amy Marie Gulbransen, 26, of the 1500 block of Fairway Drive, was arrested at 1:22 a.m. at Fairway Drive and Inland Circle, police said. She was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use. Her bail was $3,000.
  • Daniel Hillsman, 24, of the 300 block of Whitewater Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested at 3:27 a.m. at South Washington Street and East Bailey Road, police said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended/revoked license, operating a vehicle while uninsured, speeding over the statutory limit and driving without lights when required. His bail was $3,000.

Theft

Matthew David Higgins, 28, of the 1000 block of Aspen Drive in DeKalb, was arrested at 9:38 a.m. in the 1900 block of West Jefferson Avenue, police said. He was charged with theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Leaving the scene

Police said Daryl Dwayne Dunn, 46, of the 34000 block of Lakeside Terrace in Wilmington, was arrested at 2:27 p.m. at South Route 59 and 95th Street. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving damage, following too close and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bail was $1,500.

Suspended license

  • Roberto Martinez, 52, of the 800 block of North Eagle Street, was arrested at 7 p.m. at Shuman Boulevard and North Washington Street, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bond was $150.
  • Felix Nocelotl, 36, of the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Aurora, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. at Rickert Drive and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with speeding over the statutory limit and driving on a suspended/revoked license. His bond was $150. 

Criminal damage

Police said a 30-year-old woman in the 1200 block of Chalet Road reported that between 8 p.m. Saturday and 10:27 a.m. Sunday someone defaced and damaged a white 2010 Mazda CX-7 with spray paint.
