Police Blotter: Commuter Falls Asleep, iPhone Goes Missing

Driving under the influence

James Ronald Fairs, 63, of the 500 block of South Main Street, was arrested at 12:19 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Route 59 and Brookdale Road, said. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to signal, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving without a license. His bail was $3,000.

Suspended license

Chaka Sylone Richardson, 25, of the 2600 block of North Spaulding Street in Chicago, was arrested at 6:03 p.m. in the 2800 block of Aurora Avenue and South Route 59, police said. She was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license. Her bail was $1,500.

Theft

  • Terrell Devon Smith, 29, of the first block of South Whispering Hills Drive, was arrested at 9:26 p.m. at 1635 Emerson Lane, Community Christian Church, and charged with two counts of theft, police said. Bail was $1,500.
  • Johnny Leshawn Powell, 19, of the 300 block of West Ogden Avenue, was arrested at 9:26 p.m. at 1635 Emerson Lane, Community Christian Church, police said. He was charged with theft. His bail was $1,500.
  • A woman reported that her cell phone was stolen from her while she was shopping in the first block of Jackson Avenue, police said.
  • Someone reported the theft of a wallet in the 500 block of Fort Hill Drive between 5:30 and 6 p.m., according to police reports.

Missing property

  • A commuter who fell asleep on the Metra train headed back to Naperville woke up and found that their iPhone 4 was missing, police said.
  • Someone reported finding a wallet on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of North Route 59, according to police.

Burglary

It was reported that someone entered a construction site in the 300 block of South Route 59 between 3:15 p.m. Friday and 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, and stole an electric powered conduit bender valued at about $6,500, according to police reports.
