Ritzy Rack Consigners Asked to File Complaints with Will County State's Attorney

Consigners at the Ritzy Rack who have contacted or planned to contact police are being asked to file complaints with the Will County State’s Attorney's Office, according to the . 

The Ritzy Rack, located at 2728 Hassert Blvd., . Owner Ryan Wrobel has said it was only temporary because he planned to do renovations to the building. The telephone was temporarily disconnected and the Facebook page was taken down. The website was also taken down, but is live again.

Customers have expressed concerns about items they had on consignment there that have not yet been returned and difficulties contacting store management.

While the store is located in Naperville, the matter is a civil one and the Naperville Police Department is referring consigners from the store to file complaints with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday, Naperville Police Sgt. Gregg Bell said his department had referred complainants to Will County to file their reports. It is unclear whether any complaints have yet been filed with the county.

Anyone planning to file a complaint with Will County must first file a police report with the Naperville Police Department, and then provide that to the Will County State's Attorney's Office, said State's Attorney spokesman Charles Pelkie.

Wrobel told Naperville Patch in an e-mail over the weekend that he had problems with AT&T and with the building and its wiring. He said he was planning to install new carpeting and paint. 

It was not apparent Tuesday that any renovations had been done and more items appeared to have been removed from the store since late last week, including mannequins that were in the windows Friday. 

The leasing company declined to comment on the situation because they are referring the matter to their legal counsel.

In regard to the building’s electrical and wiring, the neighboring buildings and units were functioning, including the neighboring bank building, according to the leasing company.
