Savers Trash Compactor Fire Causes Thousands In Damage In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — A fire broke out in a trash compactor behind the Savers on Ogden Avenue in Naperville Wednesday morning.

Fire crews were called to the Savers at 1125 Ogden Ave. around 9 a.m. after someone saw smoke coming from a commercial trash compactor. It took firefighters 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

No one was hurt in the fire, which did not damage the Savers store. The fire, which officials believe was not intentional, caused $8,000 in damage to the trash compactor.
