Smoke Shop Burglarized After Rock Thrown Through Window In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — Two men are accused of throwing a rock through the window of a Naperville smoke shop and stealing items early Thursday morning. Jason P. Crumpacker, 20, of the 100 block of Testa Drive, Naperville, and Elija I. Castillo, 20, of Joliet, were charged with felony burglary in connection with the incident.

Police were called to the smoke shop in the 1500 block of W. Ogden around 2:30 a.m. after someone heard "a crashing sound" and saw two people dressed in black fleeing the store. When police got to the scene, they found broken glass, per a news release.

According to police, Crumpacker and Castillo used a rock to break glass and get into the smoke shop. They are accused of stealing merchandise and fleeing on foot. Police say Castillo dropped some of the stolen items and Crumpacker retrieved them.

Officers reported finding Crumpacker and Castillo near the intersection of Georgia Court and Jefferson Avenue, where they were taken into custody.
