Tornado Damage Prompts Special Brush Collection In Naperville
An EF-0 tornado damaged trees and at least one business near Route 59 and 95th Street.
NAPERVILLE, IL — A special brush collection is planned in southwest Naperville for residents who were impacted by an EF-0 tornado that touched down near Route 59 and 95th Street early Saturday. No one was hurt and no homes were damaged during the storm, according to city officials.
The Naperville tornado touched down at 5:41 a.m. and cut a path through 4.5 miles, reaching wind speeds of 85 mph. The storm damaged trees and at least one business, in addition to causing at least six gas leaks in a strip mall.
In the wake of Saturday's tornado, Naperville received 77 service calls about damage to public and private trees. Debris from the storm closed at least 12 roads.

A commercial building was also damaged near the intersection of Route 59 and 95th Street.
The upcoming brush collection will only be available for residents in the area indicated by this map. Those residents should place their debris and brush on their front parkway by Tuesday morning to ensure collection.

According to the National Weather Service, a total of three EF-0 tornados were spotted between southeastern Aurora and southwestern Naperville, south Romeoville and north Crest Hill and Joliet, and just north of Manhattan Saturday.
