5 New Lenox Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season

NEW LENOX, IL — If you’re like many of your New Lenox neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.
Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.
Maintaining funding is a constant challenge for many nonprofits that fill gaps and meet other needs in the New Lenox area.

1. Trinity Services, Inc.: Founded in 1950, Trinity Services is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization that provides the highest quality person-directed services and supports to people with disabilities and mental illness. Find out how to donate.
2. Advocates For Acceptance: Advocates For Acceptance envisions a world where disability doesn’t equal exclusion. An inclusive society where all people have access to equitable activities and accommodations to enrich their opportunities to help them thrive. Inspire and promote inclusion for every child. Their mission is to assist special needs families in providing sports programs, recreation activities and adapted playground equipment for their child who might otherwise miss out. 3. Will County Children's Advocacy Center: The only agency of its kind in Will County, the Will County Children's Advocacy Center provides hope, healing and justice for children (and non-offending family members) who have endured physical and sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, child pornography, neglect and exposure to violence. 4. Cache Creek Animal Rescue: A no-kill animal rescue based out of Alsip Nursery in Frankfort. Each year, they send between 600-800 animals—mostly dogs and puppies—to new homes. Cache Creek shares all of its adoptable animals via its Facebook page. Volunteers are invited to drop in and visit with the pets for socialization. Find out more.
5. The Tyler Koscinski Memorial Foundation: Started in memory of Tyler Koscinski, who died in a car crash in September, the Tyler Koscinski Memorial Foundation seeks to provide support to student-athletes pursuing their dreams. The foundation aims to provide scholarships to deserving young athletes in the Lincoln-Way area, helping them achieve their academic and athletic goals at the collegiate level. Find out more.
