911 Call Leads To Drug Charge For New Lenox Man: Police

A 30-year-old New Lenox man was found to be in possession of fentanyl and heroin, following a 911 call he placed to NL police.

NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox man faces a drug charge after he called 911 to report an unresponsive person.

Police were called March 18 to the 400 block of Root Street, where they found a person unconscious, and administered Narcan to revive him. During the response, officers met with the caller, identified as Gregory Podobnik, 30, of the 22000 block of S. County Lane in New Lenox.

The officer learned that Podobnik had an active warrant out for his arrest. Podobnik was taken into custody and during a search police found Podobnik to be in possession of heroin and fentanyl. He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Bond was set at $37,500, with 10 percent needed to bond out. He was given a March 22 court date.

The person revived at this scene was taken to a medical facility and is still being treated, police told Patch.
