Frankfort Man, 18, Charged With Felony Sexual Assault After Incident At Tinley Concert Venue: Police

Police conducted a months-long investigation into the incident at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in July 2025.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A Frankfort man has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault following an incident at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in July 2025, police said Thursday.

Roman Basso, 18, was arrested Jan. 6 after a months-long investigation into the July 22 incident, police said.

The investigation began July 24 after hospital staff in Ohio notified Tinley Park police of the incident. Surveillance footage provided by Live Nation, witness statements and a forensic interview supported the victim’s account, police said. Additional evidence was collected with assistance from the Indian Hill Police Department in Ohio.

Investigators were able to confirm Basso’s identity and learned he was enrolled at Arizona State University (ASU), police said. Coordination with ASU police helped Tinley Park detectives locate Basso, who was taken into custody in Frankfort on Jan. 6. While in custody, Basso made a post-Miranda confession, police said.

Police did not immediately provide any additional information about the incident, or allegations against Basso.

Basso was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault/bodily harm, a class X felony. He was scheduled to appear at the Bridgeview Courthouse for a detention hearing on Jan. 7.

The Tinley Park Police Department thanked the investigating detectives for their professionalism and dedication to duty, also thanking the Indian Hill, Arizona State University and Illinois Secretary of State police departments for their assistance and coordination in the investigation, which was instrumental in approving felony charges.
