Auto Shop Owner Battered Truck Buyer's Buddy: Cops
The Hazel Crest man wanted to buy the truck for himself, police said.

A Hazel Crest Man poked a truck-buyer’s friend in the head, grabbed him around the neck and hurled him to the ground, police said.
Nicholas Schweppe, 33, was jailed on a charge of battery in connection with the Friday morning incident at Defiant Audio on Schoolhouse Road in New Lenox.
Schweppe owns Defiant Audio, police said. Defiant Audio deals in “car stereo installation, tires, (and) auto detailing,” according to Yelp.

A 35-year-old New Lenox man headed over to Defiant Audio Friday with a friend and his friend’s wife. The friend was going to pick up a truck he had already bought, police said.
The New Lenox man argued with Schweppe over “Schweppe not being happy about the vehicle being sold,” police said.

“The victim and witnesses stated that Schweppe wanted the vehicle for himself and the argument regarding the title escalated when Schweppe then poked the victim in the forehead with his finger, then grabbed him into a headlock, and slammed him to the ground,” police said.
Schweppe was released from the Will County jail after he posted a $2,000 bond.
