Man Accused Of Killing Ex-Wife, Ohio Dentist Arrested In IL: Reports

ROCKFORD, IL — A man accused of killing his ex-wife and her current husband at their Ohio home was arrested in Illinois on Saturday, according to multiple reports citing court documents.

Michael David McKee of Chicago was booked into the Winnebago County Jail in Rockford on two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Monique Tepe, 39, and Spencer Tepe, 37, who were found dead in Columbus's Weinland Park neighborhood on Dec. 30, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

Court records obtained by the Dispatch show McKee is scheduled to appear in Winnebago County court on Monday and will likely be extradited to Ohio.

Around 10 a.m. on the day of the killings, Columbus police were called to the 1400 block of North 4th Street for a welfare check after Spencer Tepe failed to show up for work at his dentistry practice in Athens, according to authorities and a WSYX report.

Officers arrived at the home and found Spencer Tepe and Monique Tepe suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The couple's two children, both under the age of 5, were found uninjured inside the home, according to police and the Dispatch.

McKee was identified as a suspect after police reviewed neighborhood surveillance video, reports said. They tracked him to a vehicle that was in the area around the time of the killings. The car was later found in Rockford.

According to records reviewed by the Dispatch, McKee has active medical licenses in both Illinois and California. The records identified him as a vascular surgeon with a practice in the Rockford area.

The 39-year-old and Monique Tepe were married for about two years before they were divorced in 2017, NBC News reported. The pair had no children together.
