The change is about the cost of two cups of coffee.

NEW LENOX, IL - Property taxes are set to increase in New Lenox after the Village Board of Trustees approved a new levy Monday. The rate increases $0.3429 in 2015, from $0.338, said Finance Director Kim Auchstetter in a Chicago Tribune report. The village would collect $228.58 for every $200,000 of a home’s value, which represents a $6.05 increase from 2014.
Property taxes fund 6.9 percent of the village’s $37 million operating budget for the current year, according to a village flier.
