'Distressed Individual' Made Bomb Threat To Silver Cross Hospital, Deemed Not Credible: NLPD
New Lenox police have given the all-clear Monday evening after a bomb threat was made to Silver Cross Hospital.
NEW LENOX, IL — Silver Cross Hospital has given the all-clear call after New Lenox police deemed a bomb threat made to the facility as not credible, hospital officials said Monday at 6 p.m.
"The call was made by a distressed individual, and police have confirmed that NO credible threat has been identified," the hospital said on social media.
"In response, our Silver Cross Command Center has officially called an “all-clear.”

The hospital informed the public about the bomb threat at approximately 5:45 p.m. Monday.
"A short while ago, Silver Cross Hospital received an unidentified bomb threat," the hospital said on its social media. "In response to this threat, we immediately contacted local law enforcement agencies, and they are on site, investigating inside and outside the campus."

No one was permitted to enter the hospital or campus while the investigation was underway.
"Today at approximately 4:30 p.m., the New Lenox Police Department responded to a reported bomb threat directed at Silver Cross Hospital," said New Lenox Police Chief Micah Nuesse. "Officers immediately responded and upon investigation, quickly determined that the threat was not credible. The individual believed to be responsible for the call was located and identified as a person in distress. There is no ongoing danger to the public, patients, or staff.
"This situation was resolved swiftly and safely thanks to the coordinated efforts of hospital staff, dispatchers, and responding officers. We want to reassure the community that at no point was there evidence of an actual device or credible threat."
The investigation remains open and ongoing, Nuesse said.
