Cop On A Rooftop Back In New Lenox

NEW LENOX, IL — Look up Friday, May 16, to spot New Lenox police perched atop a rooftop.

New Lenox police will take to the rooftop of Dunkin, 273 E Haven Ave., on Friday, May 16 from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m., for the annual Cop on a Rooftop fundraising event to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.

Customers who donate will be given a coupon for a free donut, and donors giving $10 or more will receive a coupon for a free coffee and a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug (while supplies last).

2025 marks the 22nd Anniversary of the Dunkin’ partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. It has raised nearly $10 million to-date, the organization said.

If you can't join police at one of the participating locations, you can still support your local law enforcement agency and Special Olympics Athletes. Donate through the Cop on a Rooftop website, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Illinois.
