Costumed Characters, Heated Igloos Coming To Creamery In New Lenox

NEW LENOX, IL — Children love ice cream. They also love their favorite characters from the world of Disney. So, Creamery in New Lenox decided to combine those two things for its Characters at the Creamery, a chance for children and their families to enjoy some ice cream while visiting with the fictional characters come to life.

Up first on the special guest list is Moana, the title character from the popular 2016 Disney movie. She's scheduled to appear from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 30.

Next will be one of Marvel's most popular superheroes: Captain America. He'll be fighting his way into town from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 6.

Characters at the Creamery will go out in royal fashion with appearances by Princess Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog" from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 20, and Princess Anna from "Frozen" from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 3.

The characters are provided by Princess Fairytale Parties, according to Creamery Event Coordinator Victoria Sisk.

"I don't know how much better it can get. We've got princesses and superheroes and ice cream," Sisk said. "It's kind of every kids' dream."

And for those looking for a different way to enjoy frozen treats and hot chocolate, Creamery will begin offering a heated igloo experience for the first time beginning Oct. 1, Sisk said.

Bookings for the heated igloos are already being accepted. There are two options to choose from: a sundae bar experience and a hot chocolate bar experience. Both come with a slew of goodies, so customers can choose which experience is best suited for them.
