Create Sidewalk Masterpieces With Chalk Walk In New Lenox
The free event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Village Commons.
NEW LENOX, IL — The Village of New Lenox is putting out a call to all the young Picassos and O'Keeffes to come out to the Village Commons to show off their artistic skills from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 during the Village's Chalk Walk.
This free event is open to everyone, including families, students, professional artists and aspiring artists, according to information on the Village website. Those who want to just enjoy the art being created by their neighbors are also welcome to attend.
All artists must register for the event. Registration is free, but spaces are limited. If spaces are still available on the day of the event, we will allow registration that day, according to the Village.

A portion of Veterans Parkway will be closed to traffic during the event. Limited street parking will be available, according to the Village.
Additional parking will be available in the south lot of the Village Hall, at Old Plank Trail Community Bank and at Trinity Services. Attendees are asked not to park in the New Lenox Public Library lot.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for sale from the concession stand courtesy of the New Lenox Community Park District, according to the Village.
