Faculty Changes, Additions Coming For L-W Central 2022-23 School Year
The Knights will have a new principal and a new varsity boys basketball coach come fall.

NEW LENOX, IL — Students at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox will see some old faces in new roles and the addition of a new face in the athletics department when classes resume in the fall, according to a news release from Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210.
Long-time Lincoln-Way Central Principal Steve Provis transitioned into his new role as assistant superintendent July 1. Provis will be overseeing human resources for the district. Provis had served as Central's principal since 2010.
“Lincoln-Way means so much to me. I grew up in the community and went to school here," Provis said. "I appreciate and look forward to this opportunity to grow professionally and take on new challenges. I want to continue the excellence of this school district. This is a huge honor for me. Words cannot explain how humbled I am."

Beth McNamara, who has been with D210 in various roles at Central and Lincoln-Way East since 2005, is taking over for Provis. Most recently, she served as a leader for the Knights as the associate principal for curriculum and instruction for the past seven years, according to the District.
"I am extremely honored to be the next principal at Lincoln-Way Central High School," McNamara said. "As the leader of this school, I will work to carry on the rich tradition of academic excellence and strong school pride.

"As a long-time member of the Knight family, I have seen first-hand the impact of a positive high school experience and place high value on classroom community and creating supportive relationships. I look forward to working together with my LWC colleagues to create a school environment in which all students are proud to call Lincoln-Way Central their home.”
Over on the sports side of the high school, Evan Wyllie will be the new head varsity coach for the boys basketball team this season. Evan Wyllie is not related to former Superintendent Lawrence Wyllie, according to the District.
Wyllie comes to the Knights after serving as assistant men’s basketball coach for the University of West Florida, as well as seven seasons of coaching high school basketball throughout Illinois., according to the District.
Wyllie said he is excited to establish a new culture for the Knights basketball team.
“We must begin changing the mindset from just playing hard to expecting to win," he said. "Even if success does not come immediately, coaches must preach the belief of future victory, hope and belief in the program."
