Handgun Stolen From Inside Car: NLPD

The incident happened in the 1600 block of Glenbrooke Lane Sunday, the gun owner told police.

NEW LENOX, IL — A handgun was stolen from inside a car late Sunday afternoon, its owner told New Lenox police.

Police were called just before 5 p.m. Sunday to the 1600 block of Glenbrooke Lane, for a report of burglary to a motor vehicle. Earlier that morning, multiple suspects in a stolen SUV were reportedly checking vehicles in the area.

The resident at the address told police they had been aware of this activity, and that they had inadvertently left their garage door open earlier in the day. They checked their car, and found their handgun stolen from the center console, they told police.
