Harvest Recipes: Try Pumpkin Ravioli
Papa Joe's Italian Restaurant added pumpkin ravioli to its menu this week.
Papa Joe's Italian Restaurant rolled out one of their own harvest creations this week. Have you ever tried pumpkin ravioli?
Head Chef Jason Smith-Agate combined his zeal for whipping up autumn entrees with a creative way to prepare a traditional dish.
"It's a great fall dish," said his brother Luke Smith-Agate. It's made of fresh pumpkin with brown sugar, a hint if cinnamon and filled into homemade pasta pillows."
For $12.95, pumpkin ravioli is served with brown butter sage sauce along with soup and salad. Luke suggests a glass of the house Riesling wine. It has a hint of pear and apple.
Papa Joe's pumpkin ravioli was created three years ago, and the restaurant will be including it among its menu of entrees until Thanksgiving. So far this week, Papa Joe's, 400 W. Maple St., has served over 50 orders of pumpkin ravioli.
"We're always looking to try new and exciting things," he said.
