Homer Glen School Evacuated After Weekend Bomb Threat Found on Voicemail

A bomb threat left on the voicemail of a Homer Glen elementary school over the weekend forced an evacuation and search for explosives Tuesday morning.

Office staff at William E. Young School on South Cedar Road heard the voicemail shortly after arriving for work following the Labor Day weekend. The anonymous caller claimed there was a bomb in the building.

Students and staff left the building and headed across the street to Luther J. Schilling School. Will County deputies searched the building and the DuPage County Bomb Squad went through a second time with dogs. Nothing was found.

Students and staff returned to the school shortly before noon.
