Man Hit Woman, 68, Through Driver's Side Window: NLPD

The incident happened July 9, according to police reports. The woman told police she didn't know what had caused the outburst.

NEW LENOX, IL — A 52-year-old New Lenox man faces a battery charge after police said he confronted a driver and hit her through her car window, according to police reports.

Police on July 9 at 3 p.m. were called to Cedar Road and Aspen Drive for a battery complaint. The victim, a 68-year-old woman, told police she had been struck in the face by another driver while she was driving.

The woman told police the other driver—later identified as Steven Davis, 52, pulled his car around hers before stopping in front of her. He then got out of his car and approached the woman's driver side door, police said.

She moved her car around him and continued driving, she told police. Davis then reportedly caught up to her and pulled in front of her vehicle again. He then got out of his car, came to her door, and hit her in the face through her driver's window, according to police.

The woman told police she was pulling away as he was attempting to hit her, and she left the area. She did not know what had caused Davis' actions.

The woman did not require medical attention.

Police identified Davis and on July 10, located him. He was taken into custody, charged with aggravated battery, and released.
