New Lenox To Bid Farewell To Summer With Last Call Before Fall

NEW LENOX, IL — The end of summer is approaching, and the Village of New Lenox will host a final bash to mark the occasion with free activities, entertainment and local breweries on site to help give a proper toast to the end of the season.

Last Call Before Fall is scheduled to run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Village Commons, according to information on the Village's website.

Local craft breweries Arrowhead Ales, Hailstorm Brewing Company, Hickory Creek Brewing Company and Soundgrowler Brewing Co. will be on site to selling beer. Plus, The Dock at Inwood will be on site with margaritas for those who are looking for a non-beer option.

Also part of the event is the return of the Friends of the New Lenox Parks' Empty Bowls fundraiser to help support the New Lenox Township Food Pantry. People can purchase a hand-painted bowl and get unlimited soup tastings during the event from local restaurants, according to Amy Maher, recreation supervisor and marketing and public relations for the New Lenox Community Park District.

• Berkot’s Super Foods
• Bourbons Smokehouse
• Chicago Dough
• Gina’s Teardrop Cafe
• Little Joe’s Pizza & Restaurant
• Sanctuary Golf Course
• Three Corners
• White Horse Inn
• United Methodist Church

Bowls can be purchased in advance for $15 by following this link, or people can choose to buy a bowel with cash for the same amount at the event while supplies last.

Keeping the party going will be live music on the Performing Arts Pavilion from local bands Junkyard Dawgs from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., followed by Mistaken Identity from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

There will also be free activities for children, including bounce houses and face painters.

A portion of Veterans Parkway will be closed during Last Call Before Fall. Limited parking will be available on the street, in the south lot of the Village Hall, and in the lots behind Old Plank Trail Community Bank and Trinity Services. Attendees are asked to not park in the New Lenox Public Library lot.
