New Lenox District 122 Calls E-Learning Day Ahead Of Snowstorm
An impending snowstorm is expected to bring at least 6 inches of snow Wednesday into Thursday.
NEW LENOX, IL — In anticipation of a storm predicted to drop significant snowfall on the area, New Lenox District 122 on Tuesday afternoon opted for an e-learning day Wednesday.
The National Weather Service said the heaviest snow will be between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Significant travel impacts are possible, especially during the Wednesday afternoon and evening commutes.

For Park District ACES and Trailblazers program participants, they will have the option to register for emergency day services. The program is located at the Lion’s Community Center at 1 Manor Drive. Each child must bring all necessary e-learning equipment. While Park District staff will be available to assist, participants must be able to navigate their iPad and independently engage in e-learning, as staff will be supporting multiple students throughout the day. In Manhattan, St. Joe's has closed school entirely for Wednesday, calling it a complete "Snow Day" with no e-learning requirements.
