New Lenox Farmers Market Makes Its Return With More Than 2 Dozen Vendors

The New Lenox Farmers Market kicks off Thursday, May 15.

NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox will again have its own farmers market, kicking off Thursday, May 15, and returning weekly through September.

Partnering with Chicago Street Markets, the Village will host its New Lenox Farmers Market from 4 to 8 p.m. every Thursday, ending on Sept. 18.

The market opens this week, with a slew of vendors lined up. Some vendors will appear weekly, others will rotate, organizers said.

Residents have asked for years if and when New Lenox would bring back a farmers market. One had been held in previous years, but its organizers often struggled to maintain a vendor lineup, Mayor Tim Baldermann said previously.

"It was held at the same time as many other markets and the organizer couldn’t secure enough vendors," Baldermann said. "Thursday nights will be ideal for a number of vendors to participate."
