NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox officials March 29 have set the date for a beloved town tradition.

Now in its 43rd year, the annual William A. Athans & 18th District VFW Post's Loyalty Day Parade will step off May 7 at 2 p.m. The parade route begins at 4th Avenue and Cedar Road, heads north on Cedar, moves west down Haven, and ends in the New Lenox Village Commons.

Loyalty Day is a holiday that takes place annually on May 1 and is a day reserved for showing our loyalty to our country and recognizing the heritage of American freedom, the Village wrote.
