Liam is an incredible musician. For the last few years, he's been writing music, often classical style piano solos, but he also wrote a song to be played by the LWW Jazz Band that was debuted at last weekend's Jazz Cafe. He's been recognized at the IPO's Rising Stars concert, where he played an original composition called The Trojan Suite. Last summer, he attended a music camp where he played in the highest-level jazz combo, which also played a (different) song he composed.
He's part of a trio (Two Rights and a Left) that plays both originals and covers of popular songs. Two of their regular pieces are Bill Wither's "Just the Two of Us" and Hozier's "Take Me to Church" (though they also do a very interesting cover of Tyler the Creator's "I Thought You Wanted to Dance.") They opened for Smokey Robinson at last year's New Lenox Triple Play Concert series. Additionally, Liam volunteers in the community through organizations like Share Fest and Trinity Services, and is an honor roll student taking multiple AP classes this year.
Next year he will be a senior and will be deciding where he wants to study engineering.
