New Lenox Village Board Approves Plan For Gas Station
The latest gas station, Speed Trek, will be located at the corner of Laraway Road and School House Road.

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Village Board of Trustees at its Monday meeting approved a site plan for a gas station to be built at the corner of Laraway Road and Schoolhouse Road.
The board voted 6-0 in favor of the plan for Speed Trek after having some discussion about entrances and exits for the future gas station. Trustee David Butterfield was absent.
Speed Trek still needs to submit building plans to the Village for approval, so there is no immediate timetable for when construction might begin, according to Robin Ellis, assistant village administrator/community development director.

The main concern from the board was in regards to access to the gas station from either Laraway Road or Schoolhouse Road. Trustee David Smith asked if the Speed Trek was aware that one of the entrances might have to be right-turn-in, right-turn-out only. Both Ellis and a representative from Speed Trek said they were aware that future development in that area might require that scenario.
