Woman, 40, Charged With DUI After Driving At Squad Car, Being Struck By Own Car: NLPD

The incident happened Sept. 2 at Coventry Road and Pine Grove Court, police said.

NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox woman was charged with DUI after police say she drove across lawns and narrowly avoided hitting a squad car before being run over by her own car, according to police reports.

Police were called Sept. 2 to Coventry Road and Pine Grove Court, for a report of a woman driving recklessly. Police arrived at the scene and found a vehicle matching the description. The woman behind the wheel—identified as Grazina Tilvikaite-Johnson, 40—"drove directly at the officer’s squad and then maneuvered to avoid striking" it, according to police reports. She then pulled into a driveway and drove through lawns, nearly striking a residence, police said.

When police pulled her over, Tilvikaite-Johnson did not follow orders to put the vehicle in park and turn off the engine, police said. She got out of the vehicle, and it continued to roll, causing her to fall. The rear tire then drove over her legs before the car rolled into a nearby yard.
