Gift Cards Altered To Look Like Credit Cards, Morton Grove Police Say

An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.



Charneice Catman 27, of Chicago and Naomi White, 30, of Chicago were charged with possession of altered debit cards, driving with a suspended driver's license and obstructing officers after police stopped them for traffic violations Sept. 9 at Dempster and Central, according to Morton Grove police reports. Officers then discovered the subjects to be in possession of numerous pre-paid debit/gift cards that had been altered to appear like credit cards, the report indicated, and their magnetic strip numbers did not match their embossed numbers. Their court date is scheduled for 09/23/13.ย 

John Wheeler, 19,ย was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop Sept. 10, according to the report. ย Court date is scheduled for 09/30/13.

Roozvelt Christian, 33, of Nilesย was stopped for traffic violations and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Sept. 11 in the 7600 block of Dempster. Court date is scheduled for 10/03/13.

Trevor Grimm, 21, of Morton Grove, was charged with possession and delivery of a controlled substance Sept. 12. Heย was in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation ย at Lincoln and Marmora, police said,ย and was discovered to have sold a suspected controlled substance to another occupant of the vehicle, according to the report. Court date is scheduled for 09/23/13.

Ranice Williams, 47, of Mount Prospectย was involved in a traffic accident at Golf and Harlem Sept. 13, according to the report,ย and was charged withย driving on a suspended license. Court date is scheduled for 11/01/13

Vaibhav Patel, 22, of Nilesย was stopped for traffic violations Sept. 14 in the 6700 block of Dempster, police said,ย and was charged withย possession of cannabis as well as drug paraphernalia.ย  He also had in his possession items that indicated he was selling cannabis as well, according to police reports.ย Court date is scheduled for 11/18/13.

Jose Mendoza, 25, of Elk Grove Villageย was stopped in the 5700 block of Dempster Sept. 15ย and, according to police reports,ย charged with Hit and Runย after being involved in an accident and not reporting it. Court date is scheduled for 10/03/13.

Atiq Savani, 28, of Morton Groveย was stopped Sept. 18 at Dempster and Birchย for traffic violations, according to the police report,ย ย and charged with driving without a valid driverโ€™s license.ย Court date is scheduled for 11/01/13.ย

In aย Criminal Damage to Vehicleย case Sept. 2 at 5510 Lincoln, unknown offender(s) caused damage by scratching the passenger door of the victimโ€™s vehicle.

In a Theft caseย Sept. 12 at 6921 Dempster, unknown offender(s) stole items including car keys and a cell phone from a locked locker.

In aย Burglary to Motor Vehicle case Sept. 12 in the 8600 block of Lillibet,ย Unknown offender(s) entered a vehicle and removed a vehicle monitoring system.

In aย Burglary to Motor Vehicle case Sept. 12 in the 5600 block of Theobald, unknown offender(s) entered a vehicle and removed various items including money and a GPS unit.

In a Burglary case Sept. 15 in the 7400 block of Wilson, unknown offender(s) forced entry into a home and stole multiple purses.

In a Burglary case Sept. 16 in the 8500 block of Lillibet, unknown offender(s) forced entry into a home and stole various jewelry items.

In a Theft case Sept. 17 in the 8800 block of Menard, unknown offender(s) removed a basketball hoop from the ownerโ€™s alley.

In a theft case Sept. 17 at 6929 Dempster, unknown offender(s) stole a wallet and cell phone from the victimโ€™s bag while shopping.
