Late-Season Pool Hours Go Into Effect
Here's what's up today in Niles and Morton Grove. There's also a cool effort to start a community garden, a field trip to a monster water park for teens and story time for little ones.

- It's still summer. How does sliding down a monster water slide sound? If your teen likes that idea, the Niles Teen Center is going on a field trip tomorrow to Magic Waters in Rockford.
- Shawn Phillips has an awesome idea: start a community garden in Niles. It would be a place where people could raise healthy, fresh produce, and possibly donate a portion to food pantries, too. Want to join in the planning? There's a 7 p.m. meeting at the Niles Library.
- If you have little ones, storytime might be just the thing to keep them engaged and happy until lunchtime and naptime. The Morton Grove Public Library has Drop-In Storytime at 10 a.m.
- At Harrer Pool in Morton Grove, late-season hours go into effect from now through Sept. 2. It's open from 2 to 8 p.m. through Friday, then noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. See the schedule for more details.
