The Niles Library is making progress in its ongoing renovation project, and has abundant signs in place directing patrons around and through the areas under construction.
Fiction and music lovers can find books, CDs and DVDs on the spruced-up, newly-reopened second floor. It has new carpeting, lighting and furniture.
Patrons have to wind up a rear staircase to walk up to the third floor, which has non-fiction, periodicals and a lovely reading room in the round.
Sue Wilsey, the library's marketing director, said work is being done on the first floor to create a comfortable lounge, where people can chat over coffee or enjoy a book in a sociable setting. That area is expected to open sometime next month.
