Niles West, North Students' Designs On Display At Old Orchard Mall
District 219 fashion design students created prom-like dresses to help raise awareness for the Glass Slipper Project, which provides prom dresses for girls who otherwise couldn't afford them.
Students taking fashion design at Niles West and Niles North High Schools are getting their fifteen minutes of fame with two dresses (for each school) made out of recycled materials. Now on display at the Westfield Old Orchard Mall, the dresses were created as part of a promotion to raise awareness for the Glass Slipper Project, a charity that provides prom gowns to girls who can't afford to purchase a dress.
Dresses designed by students from New Trier High School are also on display. Patrons can vote on the winning design on Old Orchard's Facebook page.
