Teens Struck By Cars in Separate Incidents Friday, Police Say

One was struck at the Niles-Park Ridge border, near Emerson Middle School at Oakton and Cumberland.


Two Park Ridge teenagers were struck by vehicles while riding bicycles on Aug. 16 in separate incidents, the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate reported.

A 13-year-old boy was hit near Oakton Street and Cumberland Avenue, which is on the border of Niles and Park Ridge, near Emerson Middle School in Niles.

The newspaper reported that the boy was responsive, but transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital with some injuries.

In the other incident, a 13-year-old boy was hit by a small truck on Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge. The newspaper reported that both boys are expected to recover from their injuries.
