He’ll spend the next six months finishing the year in North Chicago, helping onboard his successor, and drawing on lessons learned here to guide a much larger suburban district. 
• Jack Franks' Marengo firm part of multimillion-dollar PCB settlement against Monsanto (shawlocal.com) — North Chicago is one of several Lake Michigan towns sharing in a $120 million PCB contamination settlement with Monsanto, money aimed at offsetting costly stormwater cleanup requirements. The deal, driven by a team including Marengo attorney Jack Franks, could bring significant environmental remediation funds to both the city and the state of Illinois over the coming years.
