1 Dead After Car Rolls Over On Interstate 94 Near Northbrook: Coroner

An 18-year-old died as a result of injuries sustained in the Thursday crash.

NORTHBROOK, IL — An 18-year-old Chicago resident was killed early Thursday as a result of a car crash on Interstate 94 between Northbrook and Deerfield. Angelo Gomez-Suarez died from blunt force injuries of the chest and abdomen as a result of the crash, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.

At around 4:42 a.m Thursday, ISP responded to a vehicle crash on I-94 at mile marker 25.5, located between Northbrook and Deerfield. Troopers arrived and found a gray Toyota that had left the roadway and reportedly rolled over.

Gomez-Suarez, the only occupant of the vehicle, was unresponsive and not breathing, according to police. The Northbrook Fire Department responded to the scene and paramedics took the victim to Endeavor Health Highland Park Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
