NORTHBROOK, IL — While March Madness is set to get underway next week, the top area Jewish high school senior basketball players will have a chance to shine in April. The second annual Chicagoland Jewish Basketball Showcase returns on April 6 at Ida Crown Jewish Academy in Skokie.

Mike Kamin, founder of the showcase, tells Patch player rosters are still being finalized, but will include players from Glenbrook North and Deerfield High School.

During the game, which is set to tip off at 3 p.m., players will be split into two teams in which they will have the opportunity to display their skills and compete against one another in front of fans, their peers, and the community.

Coaches include Eric Millstone from Palatine, Andrew Braverman from Wheeling, Jacob Goldstein from Bulls College Prep, and JJ Pearl from York. Players are divided between both private and public high schools, ranging in size from 4A to 1A.

"We had a great response from players, coaches and the community after last year's entertaining game. That buzz has spread," Kamin said. "Local businesses and individuals have stepped forward to ensure we continue to highlight these players, grow and promote the event, and help raise money for Hadassah hospitals."
