Northbrook Farmers Market
Five recycle artists will offer unique upcycled and repurposed items made of materials that would have gone into landfills during Northbrook’s Art of Recycling Day at Wednesday's farmers market. The market runs 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the corner of Cherry Lane and Meadow Road, rain or shine.
Wednesday Classic Film Series
The Northbrook Public Library's weekly film series continues with Rumble Fish at 7:30 p.m. The film is about Rusty James (Matt Dillon), the leader of a small and dying gang in an industrial town who lives in the shadow of his absent older brother, The Motorcycle Boy (Mickey Rourke).
Books On Tap
Books on Tap is the library's book club in a pub. The group meets in a private room at the Landmark Inn to relax, talk books and enjoy a tasty beverage and snacks.This week, Leah White leads a discussion of The Dog Stars by Peter Heller — After an epidemic wipes out most the population, a man flies sorties in a small plane from a remote Colorado airport where he took refuge with his dog and another survivor.
